This brand-new 580 million pound industry has a market of its own.The figures show an increase of 5,3%. This is the third increase in a row following a significant decrease between 2013-2015 after the introduction of marriages for same-sex couples.In 2018, nearly two-thirds of civil partnerships were formed between men. This is a similar percentage to the year before (66%).The average age for women who form a civil partnership (51.6) is higher than the average age for men (50.5).London and Manchester continue to be the top regions for civil partnerships and same-sex marriages.Civil Partnerships and Same-Sex MarriagesFor the third year in a row, the number of couples who are both same-sex have formed a civil partnership has increased.
